How to transfer files between PC/Laptop and a smartphone using WiFi

Hello friends, here's a brief tutorial on how to transfer files between a windows PC/Laptop and an Android/IOS Smartphone using WiFi.

As you all know there is no direct application that will help you transfer your files through WiFi in a single click. But here's a trick that will let you do that lightning fast, and the best part is once you are done configuring your Laptop and Smartphone the way mentioned below, you won't have to repeat the process again means you can now send files on the go with few clicks..:)

Lets get started..

• 1. You must have a WiFi enabled PC or a Laptop.
• 2. Now go and choose your desired folder on you PC that you want to share with your smartphone. (For eg. Here I'm using a folder named 'Sharing' that will be visible on ur smartphone. I'll explain the things on details.)

• 3. Go to properties of that folder and go to the 'sharing tab' (Fig. 3) and then click the Advance Sharing icon, then tick all the three"Allow" options under permission. (Fig. 4)

"Now get your hands on your smartphone."

• 4. Switch on your mobile Hotspot and connect it with your Laptop. 'Hope you know how to do that.. & if you don't then its such a shame..!'😛
• 5. Now go to play store or ITunes and download "X-plore File manager".
• 6. Open it and check out on the left panel for 'LAN' option. (If u can't see it then go to configuration and search for LAN option and enable it.)

• 7. After that click it and scan, u'll either see ur Laptop's IP address or name of your Laptop on the LAN Directory. (I can't show you more screenshots of this app b'coz it wont let you take screenshots due to security reason. Above screenshot is taken from playstore.)
• 8. Click it and Login with your Username and password(if any). If you don't know your login then go to Control Panel>User Accounts>User Accounts (Here user name is Abhijeet Das. 'Fig. 5)

• 9. Now you will see your Laptop's 'Sharing' folder Visible on the X-plore file manager's LAN directory.
• 10. And its all done. Now you can simply copy paste files from your android/IOS device to that specific folder and Vice Versa. 

*Note- You can choose multiple folders to share repeating the same process. ie- Step no. 3.
